We use the past simple of be to talk about the past. 1/He/She/It was/wasn't In the site manager's office yesterday.
We/You/They were/weren't here this morning.
P a s t s i m p l e
We use the p a s t s i m p l e to talk about actions and situations that started and finished in the past.
To form the past simple of regular verbs, we add -ed to the verb. / sprained my ankle.
The pallet crushed his hand.
Some verbs do not form the past simple with -ed.They are irregular He fell off the scaffolding, (fall •> fell)
(e.g. go > went, buy • bought, meet -* met, etc.). He broke his arm. (break -> broke)
